The Book of Doctrine
The Book of Doctrine and Order of the Methodist Collegiate Church contains the history and theological doctrines of the church. It also provides the organizational requirements for the Collegium, the Colleges and the local church. It describes the requirements for ordination and licensing, and the form and function of the societies and fellowships of leadership.
The Book of Doctrine and Order of the Methodist Collegiate Church is not intended to be a highly detailed, all-encompassing book of rules and regulations. It is intended to house the beliefs we share in common and the processes and procedures we agree to be governed by.
The Book of Doctrine and Order of the Methodist Collegiate Church intentionally establishes room for Supplemental Books of Discipline to be maintained by the local churches. The Supplemental Disciplines allow local churches to establish regulations, processes and procedures for use in the local church that embody the character of the local community.
