The Local Church
The local church is the center of authority and activity within the Methodist Collegiate Church. The local church is responsible for ministry to the community through evangelism, service, worship and Christian education. It is responsible for administering its assets and actions as a responsible, financially independent entity. The local church maintains its Supplemental Book of Doctrine to address issues of significance not covered by the Collegium Book of Doctrine. The supplemental discipline may not contradict the Collegiate Book of Doctrine, but may be used to address local issues and concerns in a formal manner. The local church approves and supervises its ordained and licensed leaders. The local church selects lay members to act as voting members of the College and Collegium.
